Nevion provides extensive options for converting diverse video signals into a common format for efficient multiplexing and mapping to various SONET/SDH speeds. Nevion JPEG 2000 compression products reduce the bandwidth requirements of HD content without compromising image quality. Integrated protection switching and the ability to synchronize without an external timing source simplify implementation.

Nevion has extended its signal aggregation and multiplexing techniques to the SONET/SDH environment, with 2 x 270Mbps into OC-12c and 8 x 270Mbps into OC-48c. Uncompressed HD is supported, with 6 x 1.5Gbps onto OC‑192c/SDM-64, or 1 x 1.5Gbps (HD-SDI) plus 2 SD-SDI onto OC-48c/STM-16. Nevion’s outstanding JPEG 2000 compression provides visually lossless quality where a SONET/SDH connection lacks the bandwidth required for uncompressed signals. OC-3c/STM-1, OC-12c/STM-4 and even DS-3/E3 can be conduits for single and multiple channels of HD and SD video.
