The FCS range of in-service monitoring products, encompassing FCS250 and FCS1000, ensures that services achieve target quality standards 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. FCS250 and FCS1000 monitor DVB-ASI, HD/SD-SDI signals according to DVB and SMPTE recommendations. Remote video circuit monitoring is provided through a built-in Web interface. The monitoring system details information about each transport stream, tests signals without breaking any feeds, monitors multiple signals at once, and pinpoints signal failures down to the transport stream level. The system also allows service providers to demonstrate SLA compliance and provides valuable input for creating SLA reports.
The FCS range also supports video over IP with wire-speed monitoring of video-over-IP traffic at the Ethernet, IP, UDP and RTP layers. The products support any IP transport mapping, including SMPTE 2022 and MPEG transport streams over IP. It also provides passive monitoring without risk of breaking any IP flows using multicast, switch port mirroring or passive network taps.
Together with Nevion DataMiner NMS, the FCS range provides a very powerful service and SLA monitoring solution. DataMiner allows you to model a service consisting of the equipment that realizes the service and allows you to add measurements from the FCS range to the service. This means that if any equipment reports problems, or the measurement performed by the FCS range reports errors, there will be an alarm for the service.

FCS250 is a compact and cost-effective in-service monitoring system on a Ventura card. There are four versions of the FCS250 product — one for monitoring DVB-ASI transport streams, one for monitoring HD or SD-SDI, one for monitoring of video over IP and one that combines all three functions.
FCS1000-PLUS is a complete solution for monitoring all your video signals including DVB-ASI, HD/SD-SDI and video over IP in a standalone one rack-unit device.
